1. Who We Are

Lived Experience People Consultants (License No. 1519775, Dubai DET) is the data controller responsible for the personal information you share with us. You can contact our privacy team at privacy@lep.ae for any data request, access, correction, or deletion.

2. What We Collect

We collect the information you provide directly — your name, email, language preference, community of lived experience, and any notes you choose to share when you book a session or join the whitelist. When you make a payment, Stripe processes your card details on our behalf and shares only a transaction reference back to us. Where you discuss your mental health with an Expert, that information is treated as sensitive personal data under UAE law and is held to a higher standard of protection.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to deliver the service you booked, to match you with an appropriate Expert, to send you order confirmations and messages from your assigned Expert, and to comply with our legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

4. UAE PDPL and Mental Health Law Compliance

We process personal data in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the “PDPL”) and Federal Law No. 10 of 2023 on Mental Health. Sensitive mental-health information is processed only with your explicit consent, kept on encrypted infrastructure hosted within the Asia-Pacific region, and accessible only to LEPF staff and Experts who require it to deliver your service.

5. Cookies

Our site uses a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in and remember your language choice. Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are helpful and which need improvement; these are aggregate and never used to identify you. You can disable non-essential cookies at any time in your browser settings without losing access to the service.

6. Your Rights and Data Retention

Under the PDPL you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time. We retain order and invoice records for the period required by UAE tax law (currently five years) and delete sensitive mental-health notes within twelve months of your last contact, unless you ask us to keep them for continuity of care.
